Murder or Justifiable Homicide? - Maria Barbella

Murder or Justifiable Homicide? - Maria Barbella

In 1893 Maria Barbella met Domenico Cataldo in New York City.  Both of them were Italian immigrants.  Domenico began to court Maria, who was excited for the prospect of marrying a man she believed was a good man.  In 1895, things took a dramatic turn for the two young lovebirds.  What followed next would not only cause one of them to die, but would have the other sentenced to death by the electric chair.
