June 7, 1998 is a day that will live on in infamy for the state of Texas, and especially for the small east Texas town of Jasper. James Byrd, Jr. was a father, a grandfather, a brother, a son and his death is one of the most horrible instances of white supremacy rearing its ugly head. We will hear about the torturous way that he was killed by John William King, Lawrence Russel Brewer, and Shawn Allen Berry and the convictions that followed.
